The fall of Afghanistan and its consequences: a difficult decision to save yourself and your family The Fall of Afghanistan: Sudden Changes and Endless Challenges

With the fall of Afghanistan in 2021 and the Taliban taking control of the country, things changed quickly. The security conditions throughout the country became extremely unstable and the security threats increased day by day. All my social and humanitarian activities and my activities with foreign and international institutions were turned against me.

Effects of falling on personal life

With the expansion of the Taliban’s influence and the threats that arose from different groups, my activities as a professional in the field of videography and photography not only became more dangerous, but somehow became the target of threats and persecution. Many people like me who cooperated with foreign institutions or were active in government projects were pressured and threatened. This situation reached such a level that the life and safety of my family was endangered.

For this reason, after thinking for a long time and considering all the circumstances, I decided to flee Afghanistan with my family. This was a hard decision to save myself and my family. Emigrating to Iran in those circumstances was the only option that could protect us from the direct threats and dangers that arose in Afghanistan. Although this decision was painful, it was the only way to survive serious dangers and get a chance to live again.

On the way to Iran, we were arrested by Pakistani soldiers. Each part of the escape route can be written for hours

Legal restrictions and immigration difficulties

After immigrating to Iran, as an Afghan immigrant, we faced many challenges. Restrictive rules for immigrants and refugees caused us to face many problems even in our daily life. Many facilities and rights that are available to Iranian citizens were not available for us. This made life difficult for me and my family because we had to go through all the restrictions and difficult conditions.

My daughters’ educational problems: lack of access to education

One of the biggest challenges my family faced was the limited access to education for girls. Due to legal problems and our immigration status, my daughters could not officially go to schools and universities. This issue was very difficult for us, because education is considered one of the basic rights of every child and teenager, but due to existing restrictions, my daughters had to follow informal education.

Living in the shadow of restrictive rules

Due to the lack of access to legal permits and immigration restrictions, many of our daily activities faced legal challenges. For example, working in the labor market or even receiving healthcare services was associated with many problems. These issues were a double pressure not only for me, but for all my family members.

Risk of deportation to Afghanistan

For me, deportation from Iran to Afghanistan means being in a completely irreversible situation. Returning there would not only threaten my life, but also harm my family. Life in such a situation where there is no security for the future is extremely full of anxiety and fear.

My deportation to Afghanistan means imprisonment and torture by the Taliban

An uncertain future for my family

My wife and daughters have also been affected by threats and difficult conditions because of me. Since they have always been by my side and are in danger because of my activities, their lives have become a kind of pass for me. Even in Iran, while we are trying to find a peaceful and safe life, we have an uncertain future full of fear of deportation and threats.

Our request for asylum is because we no longer have any way to live a safe and carefree life, and our only wish is to be able to live in a safe country and be away from the threats and dangers imposed on us.

I just want to live in a safe country and my daughters can study

My family was always under pressure in my country due to insecure conditions and social problems, and for this reason, we decided to apply for asylum in order to maintain the safety and peace of our family.

Education: My children were deprived of quality education due to the insecure conditions and lack of proper educational facilities in our country, and we hope that by applying for asylum, they will be able to continue their education in a safe environment with better facilities. In Iran, due to the restrictions of laws and financial problems, they have not been able to study until now, which has been three years.

Work: Inadequate economic conditions and existing insecurities have prevented me from being able to have a stable and safe job to provide for my family’s livelihood, and by applying for asylum I hope to be able to find a suitable job in a safe and economically stable country.
